Dinners

Cooked dinners

Children at St Mary Magdalen's enjoy the opportunity of having healthy fresh-cooked meals made from fresh ingredients, everyday.  The food  tastes great, because it is great. Our dinners are provided by Chartwells and our cook knows the children's preferences and will also cater for those who have particular needs or dietary requirements.

The government encourages all schools to promote healthy eating and provide healthy, tasty and nutritious food and drink and our food certainly ticks those boxes!

Packed lunches

Some children prefer to have a packed lunch instead of a hot, cooked dinner. We ask that parents send in a healthy balanced packed lunch. Sweets and fizzy drinks are not allowed. Most importantly, nuts and nut products are banned, as we have some children who can suffer severe allergic reactions. This also applies to packed lunches for educational visits.
